Thomas entered the cafe and sat down at a table and ordered some food.
The Kiras in this climate act differently then North America. I'll have to change my tactics and see who turns up.

Katsu who was seated across the room peacefully ate the food he had ordered. He noticed another person sit down in this very empty resteraunt.

Thomas scoped the restaurant.
This dive sucks. Where's the action at?
He saw Katsu sitting at the other end of the restaurant and stared, unblinking.

Hitori scoped the room, looking for someone that fits Thomas' description. She spotted TK and joined him at his table.
"Hi TK."

"11:45. What's the scoop?"
TK clasped his hands in front of himself and rested his head on them.

"Uh,"
She felt kind of stupid for dragging TK out this late at night. Especially for this stupid reason.
"Well, just consider it a welcoming from the Japanese Task Force."
Even though she was no longer working with the task force, she found it easier to hack their computers. She was hoping that she could get some information from TK. Interested in what he knows about Kira.

"Umhmm. If you've got a point, make it."
TK stared at Hitori, all business.

"I was only welcoming you to Japan... If you're busy then we can chat some other time."
She felt bad for dragging him out this late at night. At the time, she didn't realize how stupid the idea was.

"Nah. It's fine, just got a bit on my plate and need to chill. Sorry."
TK shook his head.
"Damn job gets to me. Never can know whom you can trust."

"Heh."
Hitori remembered back when she was part of the Task Force and how sure she was the Dianna was Kira, yet Dianna was like her bestfriend. Well Dianna was gone now and the killings was still happening and Hitori needed some info.
"If you don't want to talk about that specific topic then I'm fine with that."
She was lying but it was anything but obvious. Anything that he ended up telling the Japanese Task Force she would eventually find out.

"I don't care. I know all about you. You work through the system without being a part of it. I know what happened here before. I know I want to prevent it from happening again."
Thomas stared at her with his piercing blue eyes.
"I don't like what happened at Ryker's Island Prison. A lot of inmates up and died because we didn't send Kira a large sum of cash."
Thomas straightened up in his chair.
"And let's be honest. You and I both know that this isn't really a vacation for me. I would like to believe I could trust you, but I need to know a few things, One: Are you in line with those L wannabes?"

She didn't know what he meant by L wannabes and since she hadn't seen or heard from L for a long time she figured that she wasn't.
"I'm not quite sure of who you mean but I'm pretty sure that I'm not."

"Who I mean are those people that think they can be as great as L or surpass him. The only people who've been close to a Kira are you, him, and I."
He stared into her eyes.
"Question 2: I need to know. Are you really attached to the Japanese task force?"

"I am but I'm not. They are the people who have helped me this far, but at the same time, that's all they've done, strictly business type stuff." She smiled at him. "What're all of these questions about?"

"I want to know my partner better. That's all, I figure we're gonna be watching each other's backs. I have no connections here, but the right type of mind to put two and two together. You have connections, and are probably better at finding cluees to whom the Kiras might be."
TK stared at her.
"Lasst question: Are you willing to work with me?"
