Connan still didn't believe him. The facts were that Sped was a risky player on an all too faulty board, and he'd already proven hostile once. Instinctively, Connan wanted to terminate the contact - but the truth remained, he had a job of his own to do.

"Alright, you listen to me. We'll do the job; we'll get the things, and leave one for you - but there are a few conditions. Firstly. If we need specific supplies to do the job, supplies we don't have, you're going to help us get them - mostly we use our own equipment, but if it calls for specialty stuff, you're the guy we're going to. Next, if one of mine gets injured or trapped by whoever it is you're fighting, or taken by L, you give me your word that you will get them out alive and as undamaged as possible. I'll hold up my side of the deal, and go for the Notes come hell or high-water - but if I tell you who and where, I expect you to pull those fine crew of yours up, and get my people back. Thirdly, if I change the times or dates of us dropping off or picking up stuff, or meeting up, or sending reinforcements or whatever else, you comply - we're professionals here, so you run by my watch. Fourth, no unnecessary questions – not who we are, not who's helping us, not why we do what we do. Trust it's for good reason, your safety and ours. Finally, if one of mine gets killed through fault that is not ours, but yours, there's a blood debt. You'll owe us, and I'm not talking money, mate."

Letting that sink in, Connan paused, then said "You don't need to worry about me turning coat, that's against my code. But if you turn against us, I swear to God I will call the fucking rain to bring you down, you understand me? No holds barred, I will track you down and tear your throat out with my teeth if that's the only weapon on hand. I don't hold with traitors. If you can't agree to these terms, then we have nothing more to discuss - these conditions, I won't be debated on. So tell me Sped; do we have a deal?"

Spedster smiled as he continued to talk.
"I'm happy to be working with smart people.Yeah deal.So if there's anything else tell me now,since later it will be too late."

“Yeah; You don't tell anyone about us. Not L, not who you're fighting, no one. You keep us, and our work secret. We do this as quickly as possible, and when it's done, we're through – if you need us again, it's a new contract and so forth. You don't get the cops involved; when it's done, we go free, and so do you. We don't kill on demand; only when we see necessary. You can't restrict our contact with those we choose to work with, even if you're against them – as long as we fulfill the preset terms, then it's clean. This is a recovery mission, not a slaughter. We're not your lackeys, we're free agents.”

Connan paused, thinking about this last. “Listen mate, I'll be straight with you – I don't trust you, and I don't particularly like you. You're not one of mine, and chances are if you fuck up and are lying on the floor bleeding out, I might not go as far as I could to help you. I'd get you to a hospital, maybe, but not much more. If it comes down to you or one of mine, I want you to know you wouldn't be my priority. I expect pretty much the same treatment of myself from you, but we're men of honor – so let's keep it that way. Trust may come, friendship may come, but for now, this is business. Cold blooded, cold cut, straight to the point. If you cross us though, your name will be poison on the wrong side of the law; no one will help you, not from contract killers and petty thieves to whores and lookouts; I mean no one. Bars will toss you out, and every crooked cop in the state will be out for your blood – not cos we're top of our game, but because no one likes a traitor.”

A pause. A silence, even.

“Any conditions on your side of the coin?”

Spedster thought a little before he continued.
Yeah I get it it's just business.And think about it if I would tell L I would be more in trouble then you.And yes we're even I hate you you hate me,we don't trust each other and so on.And I hope you tell you're men if they get caught to keep they're mouth shut.But I think you know what to do.So anything else?"

"Mine know the rules; I don't have to tell them; they know. But yes, one more thing. This is perhaps the most particular demand. Before we hand over your Note, I would request that we can have it for a period of thirteen days - we will hand it to you, and the ownership will pass to you, but for the first thirteen days, I want both of them."

"Fine.I won't ask why you won't answer anyway.I just hope you won't 'die'with those two notes in you're possession."

"You almost done?" Madara called out

"Yeah,almost."
He turned his attention back to the phone.
"So anything else you want to add?And make it fast okay?"

"I get the feelin' you're in a hurry mate, but keep in mind, we're mercenaries, not treasure hunters. At some point, you're going to have to tell us where they are, or where you think they are. Retrieval is up to us, true, but information is across the board."

And then, without it being a tied down agreement once and for all, Connan said "I'll contact you again in futue."

And hung up.

He smiled as he put his mobile back to his pocket.
"Okay I'm done now.So anyway the name's Spedster....Sped for friends and you are?"

"Agreed.Restaurant?Park?Graveyard?"

"Park,yeas sure.Nice weather anyway."
He stood up and went down the stairs waiting for Madara
